Just Peachy

We were very excited to give Josie her first solid food today. We gave her a bottle, set her up in a high chair, spooned the peaches in her mouth and...nothing. No funny faces, no reaction really at all. Like she has been eating peaches every day. I guess we will have to video the first time we introduce any new food in the hopes of getting something we can giggle at for years to come.

Splish Splash

So what started as an ordeal that involved lots of crying, some shaking and one very unhappy baby has evolved into a great time had by all. Bathtime, we love it. It became especially fun since Josie discovered splashing but before she realized she can drink the bath water. I do have to make sure that I don't mind if whatever I am wearing gets soaking wet.

Rock God

so we have discovered Guitar Hero. I am a bit obsessed and have the sore left forearm to prove it. We bought the World Tour version for the ability to sing along with the band. However, I quickly discovered that in addition to being unable to sing in a car, a shower, our home, indoors or outdoors, I am also unable to sing in Guitar Hero. I got kicked out of the band. My video game guitar rocking skills are a different story. I have moved up to medium difficulty and am still kicking butt. It must be because I am so serious about honing my talent. I don't let anything get in my way.

Where does my day go?

A friend sent me this article and I immediately sent it out to all the new moms and dads I have email addresses for. I have a hard time figuring out where my days go. I know I have been ridiculously busy with barely a minute to breath, but when I describe my day it doesn't sound like I actually did that much. It's been driving me a little crazy. After reading this, I have to say that I felt much better. Helped put into words what my currently slow moving brain just couldn't.

Scrapbook? Scrapblog.

I have a new time suck and slight obsession. It's called Scrapblog. I first heard about it on Cool Mom Picks and have spent a ridiculous amount of time on it since. It is basically a place where you can scrapbook on your computer. You can start with and exisiting theme and just plug in your pictures and words or you can start from scratch and assemble the background, stickers, text and photos yourself. It is really pretty amazing, loads of fun and totally free. When you're done you can save them as a JPEG, publish a link for others to visit or buy all sorts of printing from regular photo prints to books, calendars and more. Here are some of the pages I created while fooling around.

There are even props (like wigs, hats and, um, ears) that you can add.

Christmas Time

We had a wonderful Christmas. My family came in from LA to celebrate. We spent Christmas Eve and Grandma & Grandpa Colella's eating a delicious seafood meal and then Christmas morning and day at our house.

We had a yummy breakfast.

Opened LOTS of presents

And then played Wii all day. We had particular fun boxing each other.

all in all it was a fabulous holiday.

5 ladies, 4 generations

Jay sent me this picture of us Colella ladies and I realized there are four generations represented here. Pretty cool.

Giggles McGee

I couldn't decide which was my favorite so I had to post both. In the first I am just making faces at her and in the second I am chewing on her ribs (which explains the shaking). I hope these make you smile. If they don't, you must have a cold, cold heart.

Santa's Knee

The whole family sat on Santa's knee today and told him what we want for Christmas. The instant she was on his lap, Josie grabbed a handful of his very real beard and wouldn't let go. Thankfully Santa did not feel this alone warranted coal. I am sure Josie can look forward to a very fruitful Christmas morning.
